The One-woman band Montau creates songs that rush through wide landscapes, mysterious stories and vast emotions. They are characterized by a Nordic sound and bold, unusual harmonic twists. Her elf-like voice hovers over the music in a big and powerful manner. The fantastical images and stories are captured by the piano, which provides the foundation of each composition.
The press can see Montau, who has been referred to as the “Kate Bush of the Black Forest”, eclipse the German borders and has called her music the Black Forest’s answer to the melancholic pop sounds of the North.
For her song “Polar Light” Montau asked one of her favourite Nowegian musicians Daniel Herskedal to collaborate. They had never met before. Her motivation was a friend’s fleeing to a remote and isolated part of Sweden, for which Herskedal’s compositions deliver the perfect soundtrack. He liked her song and agreed to create and perform a tuba solo on “Polar Light”.
Under her former artist’s name Patty Moon Judith Heusch has published several albums, film and cinema compositions and given many concerts, not least as supporting act for Cat Power and Agnes Obel. In her latest production ‘Montau’ she reaches her goal of perfect harmonies, lyrics and sounds, which mirror her inner world and take the audience on a captivating and emotional journey.
